Weekly Football Preparation — 30 Hour Plan

Allocate exactly 30 football-program hours each week across installation, special teams, position work, film, strength, recovery, team building and academics. Study Hall is capped at 10 hours.

Team Academics & Eligibility

Study Hall time from the weekly 30-hour plan drives team GPA. GPA also sets each player’s graduation pace. Fast Track players can complete an undergraduate degree early and, if athletic eligibility remains, continue on the roster as graduate students. Players below a 2.00 GPA are academically ineligible and do not participate in games.

Coach Career — Awards, Pressure & Personal Decisions

Your career is graded on on-field results, academics, budget management, program building, recruiting and player retention. Job security, reputation and personal choices create real recruiting, retention and budget consequences.

🎭 Personal Coach Decisions

Small, fictional situations can change energy, stress, work-life balance, locker-room trust, admin trust, media goodwill and recruiting/retention momentum.

No personal coach decision is waiting right now.

🤪 Locker Room Chaos

No current player chaos events.

🏈 Football Decisions

No coach decisions needed.

Team Community Service & Program Building

Build team morale, locker-room trust and community support through service. Required service windows occur in Regular Season Weeks 3, 6, 9 and 12. Complete one activity during each window; skipping a required window has a morale and program-building cost.

Player Sponsorship Opportunities

Players can receive fictional local, regional, national and footwear sponsorship opportunities based on ability, role, performance and program exposure.

Fictional universe: the sponsor pool contains 132 invented companies and brands, including 36 fictional footwear brands. They were created for the Fake Ballers Football League game and are not intended to represent real-world brands.

Team Budget — Meals & Travel

Manage football operating money for team meals and travel. Quality choices have small fatigue/recovery effects so finances matter without overpowering football.

Game Settings

These settings are saved separately inside each dynasty slot. Sponsorships and the Transfer Station each have three modes: Controlled, Auto — Delegated, or Old School — Inactive. Selecting Old School for both creates Old School Mode. Team Budget remains independently configurable.

FBFL Game Format

Regulation: four 15-minute quarters, a 20-minute halftime, three team timeouts per half, a normal 40-second play clock and a 25-second play clock after administrative stoppages. The mandatory Two-Minute Timeout is modeled in the second and fourth quarters. After that timeout, first downs and runners going out of bounds stop the clock until the next snap.

Game Rules: offensive pass interference is 10 yards. A head coach begins with two replay challenges and earns a third if at least one of the first two is successful; a challenge requires an available timeout, and a successful challenge restores the timeout. Targeting uses the 2026 same-season progressive penalty system. The new fair-catch kick is also available in qualifying situations.

Overtime: no game clock. 1OT gives each team a possession from the opponent's 25-yard line. In 2OT, touchdowns require a 2-point try. Beginning with 3OT, teams alternate 2-point tries from the 3-yard line. Each team gets one timeout per overtime period, with no carryover.

The simulator applies the game rules that affect coaching decisions and outcomes.
Game Difficulty
Easy gives you a competitive cushion. Medium is neutral. Hard favors opponents and slows recruiting. Impossible creates a severe opponent and recruiting advantage.
Sponsorships
Controlled = you make the decisions. Auto = staff manages the feature. Old School = no offers, effects or sponsorship influence in the dynasty.
Transfer Station
Controlled = you handle retention and transfer recruiting. Auto = staff handles them using the same interaction bank and contact limits. Old School = no player movement through the Transfer Station.
Team Budget
Control It = choose meal/travel quality. Automatic = athletic department manages expenses. Off = no meal/travel costs or modifiers are applied.
Modern Features
Choose your feature settings above.

Easy

User rating boost, opponent penalty, larger recruiting gains and lower operating costs.

Medium

Baseline simulation and recruiting values.

Hard

Opponent rating advantage, slower recruiting and slightly higher costs.

Impossible

Major opponent advantage, much slower recruiting, tougher retention and the highest operating-cost pressure.
